In the prestigious setting of a fully restored 18th century merchant mansion, situated in the heart of the historical city and listed in the official Additional Registrar of the Historical Monuments of la Rochelle, two magnificent halls are available for private hire, with furniture and art objects of the period, French as well as Indian, Chinese or Japanese, with independent access through the 74 Chemin du rempart (the rampart lane), a garden and a grand staircase.
La Résidence des Indes also offers the unique setting of a cabinet of tribal curiosities, 18th century style, which can be privately hired outside opening hours of the tea room in the afternoon.
In total, the two halls, small and large, have a combined area of 82m² that can accommodate up to sixty persons standing or fifty persons sitting, with the additional capacity of 16 seats on 35 m² of the adjacent tea room. These three modular spaces can be combined over the day to suit all types of events or meetings. You may consult us to receive a tailor made offer.
The grand hall is the perfect venue for cultural events, for which an audience of chamber capacity is the ideal fit. La Résidence des Indes regularly organizes its own cultural events in the framework of its «Escales au Salon », the programme of which is mentionned on the “Events” page.
