    Follow the A83 highway towards the D137/E3 road. At Sainte-Hermine, take exit 7 and leave the A83.
    Follow the D137. Then take D10A, D9, D10 and D105 towards Rue Réaumur at La Rochelle.
  • From Paris: 4h30 par l’A10.
    Follow the A10 highway: Paris – Orléans – Tours – Chatellerault – Poitiers. Exit to N11 towards Avenue du 8 Mai 1945/D104 at Lagord. Exit N237 towards D104. Follow on D104. Take avenue du Lieutenant-Colonel Bernier towards rue Réaumur at La Rochelle.

From the South

  • From Bordeaux: 2h by the A10 highway.
    Take A10/E5, A837/E602 and D137 towards Avenue du 8 Mai 1945/D104 at Lagord. Exit N237 towards D104.
    Follow on D104. Take avenue du Lieutenant-Colonel Bernier towards Rue Réaumur at La Rochelle.

Residence car park: three spaces in covered, enclosed and secure parking, 5′ walk from the Residence, is available for €15/day. To be booked with the room.

Municipal car parks in order of proximity to the Residence:

– The ramparts path along the Residence: Paid from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at €2/h, except Sundays and public holidays.

– Verdun: 600 places from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. Underground car park is guarded and paying.

– The Old West Port (Esplanade St Jean d’Acre): 420 paid parking spaces. Open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

– Square of la Préfecture: Paying from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at €2/h, except Sundays and public holidays.

– Casino near by streets: Paying from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at €2/h, except Sundays and holidays.

  • Taxi: Station in front of the station. Cost of the ride: About 10 €.
  • Yellow cycle: Self-service, available on the forecourt at the following rate:
    • Mechanical bike: €1 for the first 30 minutes. Beyond that, usage will be charged €1.50 per additional half-hour.
    • E-bike: €1.50 for the first 30 minutes. Beyond that, usage will be charged €2 per additional half hour.
  • Bus: At the SNCF station stop, take line 41 “La Pallice – Aytré-Grands Prés”, direction “Place des Grands Prés- Magasins Générals” and get off at the “Banque de France” stop, rue Réaumur, then 1′ walk. €1.50 per single ticket, available from the driver.

The airport is 15’ away from La Résidence by car or bus.

By taxi

Taxis are available at the arrival hall exit. Due to the influx of passengers, best is to book a taxi of your choice before boarding the plane. References of all agencies are available from the airport website. The estimated fare is between 15 and 20 € from 7 AM to 7 PM and between 20 and 25 € after 7 PM.

By car on hire

Although cars for hire are available in numbers on the spot, it is advisable to book in advance by calling car-hiring agencies. Their staff will wait for you on arrival and hand over the keys. All their references are available from the airport website.

Most airlines enjoy agreements with car-hiring companies that offer special rates with your plane ticket. For details, please contact your airline.

By bus

  • From Monday to Saturday every 30 minutes: line 7 towards “Rompsay/ZI Périgny”.
  • Sundays: line 47 towards “Beaulieu”.
    In both cases, the terminus is “Place de Verdun”, a 3-minute walk from the Residence.
    €1.50 per single ticket which is available from the driver.

LOCAL TRANSPORT

Forget the car and discover the city on foot or by bike!

It is possible to rent a “Yélo” bike in self-service on the square of Verdun or square of la Préfecture, very close, at the following rate:

  • Mechanical bike: €1 for the first 30 minutes. Beyond that, usage will be charged €1.50 per additional half-hour.
  • E-bike: €1.50 for the first 30 minutes. Beyond that, usage will be charged €2 per additional half hour.

Several private agencies also offer bicycles for rent near the port, train station, beach, etc.

You will be able to park your bike in the garden of the Residence safely and free of charge, with private access through the back door of the Residence.

To travel by bus, take advantage of the “Tribu” pass valid for one or more, either for 2 days at the rate of €5 or for 3 days at the price of €12. If the single ticket costs €1.50, the 10-journey booklet costs €12.
