Other exhibited precious art objects originate from various oriental cultures, such as Burma, Siam (modern Thailand), Japan and India.<\/p>\n

Complete your round tour of the World in the former dining hall, which has been converted into a cabinet of tribal curiosities, in the 18th century spirit, originating from Africa, pre-colombian America, India and the Pacific.<\/p>\n

Finally, discover the cultural renaissance of La Rochelle in the 1960-90\u2019s, of which La Rochelle citizens still benefit today.<\/p>\n

Each objet bears a legend. Each family of objects is documented. This information is made available through panels and\/or QR codes that be scanned on your mobile phone.<\/p>\n

Regular cultural events are organized as “Escales au Salon” (“calls at the hall”): conferences that narrate the history of the Residence, of its art collections or that of La Rochelle with the Orient, tea tasting sessions, concerts, reading workshops, yoga or meditation courses, etc. any event that benefits from the special flavour of few participants in a cosy vintage hall.<\/p>\n
